Toyota 4Runner Skid Plates (2010-2024 & 2025+)

Cali Raised LED makes bolt-on 4Runner skid plates for the 2010-2024 5th gen and the 2025+ 6th gen. Most plates come in 3/16-inch steel or 1/4-inch 5052 aluminum and bolt to the factory mounting points; lower control arm skids are steel only. Start with the Complete Skid Plate Collection, or add plates one at a time: front, transmission (5th gen) or cat shield and transmission (6th gen), transfer case, fuel tank and lower control arms.

How to Choose 4Runner Skid Plates

Skid plates bolt under the 4Runner to protect the engine, transmission, transfer case and fuel tank from rocks, ledges and ruts. Cali Raised LED skid plates are fabricated in-house in Fort Worth, Texas.

Steel or aluminum

3/16-inch steel is the strongest; 1/4-inch 5052 aluminum saves weight. On the 5th gen, the front skid is about 49.2 lbs in steel and 20.5 lbs in aluminum, the transmission skid 31.1 versus 14.6 lbs, and the fuel tank skid 37.9 versus 16 lbs.

2010-2024 4Runner (5th gen)

  • Not compatible with KDSS
  • The transmission skid requires the Cali Raised LED front skid
  • The front and transmission skids do not fit with the factory TRD Pro skid
  • The transfer case skid and complete set are 4WD only
  • The fuel tank skid uses TRD Off-Road fuel tank straps

2025+ 4Runner (6th gen)

  • Cat shield and transmission skid in hybrid and non-hybrid versions; listed as compatible with the factory TRD skid
  • Transfer case skid fits hybrid and gas models
  • The fuel tank skid uses factory hardware and does not need new straps
  • The front skid has oil-change access ports

Which Cali Raised LED skid plates fit my 4Runner?
For the 2010-2024 4Runner: front, transmission, transfer case, fuel tank and lower control arm skids, or the complete set. For the 2025+ 4Runner: front, cat shield and transmission, transfer case, fuel tank and lower control arm skids, or the complete set. Plates are generation-specific.
Do 5th gen 4Runner skid plates fit KDSS trucks?
No. The 2010-2024 4Runner skid plates are not compatible with KDSS.
Do these work with the factory TRD skid plate?
On the 5th gen, the Cali Raised LED front and transmission skids do not fit with the factory TRD Pro skid. On the 2025+ 4Runner, the cat shield and transmission skid is listed as compatible with the OEM TRD skid plate.
Should I choose steel or aluminum 4Runner skid plates?

Not all of them. The 5th gen transfer case skid and complete set are 4WD only, and the 2025+ cat shield and transmission skid, fuel tank skid and complete set are 4WD only. Check each listing before ordering.
Do I need anything else to install 5th gen 4Runner skid plates?
The transmission skid requires the Cali Raised LED front skid, and the fuel tank skid is designed to use the bolts that come with TRD Off-Road fuel tank straps. The front skid does not work with a King or Fox sway bar drop.
