Guarding the underside of your outfitted off-road vehicle as you adventure in the great outdoors, these skid plates are custom-made to fit your vehicle so you can focus on the trail ahead.

Crafted from American 3/16 Steel. The front skid plate is 100% bolt-on and is installed with zero modification to your truck. Using a combination of factory hardware and grade 8 hardware for high-quality fit.

All plates ship with a durable semi-gloss black powder coat finish for long-term corrosion resistance.

NOTE:

  • Skid plates will NOT work with KDSS
  • Front Skid does NOT work with a sway bar drop used by King and Fox. They will need to remove the sway bar.

1. Does the transfer case skid protect the catalytic converter from theft?

Not a guarantee, but it will make it more difficult for thieves to fit cutting tools in that area. But these were not designed for theft prevention. The transmission skid covers 50% of the catalytic converter.

2. Are they bolt-on, or do they require modification?

Yes, they are 100% bolt-on. You will have to remove some factory items, but they use all existing bolt holes. You can go back to stock at any time.

3. What types of material are the skid plates made from?

The front, transmission, transfer case and fuel skids are all made from either 3/16” thick steel, or 1/4” 5052 aluminum. 100% MADE IN USA, Fort Worth, Texas.

4. Differential Drop Compatible?

Yes

Great Product

Great product with a simple install. I purchased my front skid plate raw and spray painted it using "Steel-It". The instructional install video was helpful, however, a bit lacking. I believe Cali Raised should add instructional text with information on what tools are required. For instance, wrench and socket size (you'll need metric 13mm and 14mm). Even the instructional video does not mention these details. A minor inconvenience only.

I have not done an oil change with the skid plate yet. I do believe for ease, removing the front skid plate will still be much easier. The removable portion on the front skid plate for access to the oil filter is a bit offset from the oil filter itself, which may make an oil change difficult. This is not a deal breaker for me due to I tend to favor having room to work with and removing the whole skid anyway.

This product will add a little more weight to the vehicle. I have not done the science but maybe about 20lbs total. Not much. In addition, you may lose about a half inch of clearance. This won't be an issue due to the steel plate will be able to act as a skid plate, of course. Also, part of the very minor loss of clearance comes from the 3/16 inch of steel added, which is expected.

Regardless, the product is built well and I will have full confidence on my off road escapades. My OEM front skid plate was in really bad shape with the rocks I've scraped on it already. I'm comfortable knowing those same lines I took with this skid plate would simply turn into needing to reapply paint and not a damaged skid plate.

Great skid plate!

Great looking skid plate to replace factory tin metal pieces. The aluminum is very light weight and easy to install. The fit was a little tight, but it all went together with some patience. Pleasant surprise it came with the Cali Raised logo and not just the holes in the picture shown.

Nice products front and trans

Nice products front and trans skids along with cat shields on our 2nd TRD Sport same items as the first one. Great fit both have the X-Reas system and when installing the cat shields just have to adjust the lines from them 1 on each side for clearance. No biggie I expected it. If you really wanted to you could shorten the front part of the shield but its really not necessary. I don't off road either but wanted road protection. They are heavy but worth it. Nice option getting to the oil filter is a big plus.

Got tired of dropping my

Got tired of dropping my factory skid plate to change the oil filter. The Caliraised skid plate fixed my problem. It’s very heavy duty and easy to install.

I bought the transmission plate

I bought the transmission plate also. Would have been nice ot the transmission plate was wider to cover the catalytic converters instead of needing to buy extra covers to prevent theft. Plates installed fine but it doesn't accomodate the plastic front cover for the SR5.

Front skid for 2014 4Runner

Bought this to replace the stock skid on my 2014 SR5P, install wasn't too difficult, took two people though. I got the steel variant, very happy with quality and the better protection it'll give my truck. Thanks CaliRaised!

Front Skid Plate - 2023 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium

Amazing product, the powder coated steel is a massive upgrade from stock and TRD aluminum plate. I had slight trouble getting the oil filter door installed, I may have to drill out the bolt holes in the small plate slightly to avoid stripping threads. Install was easy, videos are a huge help! Highly recommend!
