Fitment notes (from OVS)
- Made for the 5.8 ft and 6.6 ft Silverado / Sierra 1500 beds. Not offered for the 8 ft bed.
- GM Carbon Pro (CarbonPro) beds are not compatible.
- Factory spare-tire mounts (Ram/Chevy) or other accessories that interfere with the installation must be removed before installing.
- "No-drill" refers to the clamps on the bed rails. Some trucks need one small hole drilled to wire the 3rd brake light; see the OVS instructions.
- No truck bed is fully waterproof. The seals greatly reduce water and dust, but some water may still get in, most often around the tailgate.
- The cap cannot be opened or locked from inside the bed.

Which Silverado / Sierra 1500 bed sizes does this truck cap fit?
It fits 2019-2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks with the 5.8 ft or 6.6 ft bed. Pick your bed size in the options. OVS does not make this cap for the 8 ft bed.
Will it fit a Sierra 1500 with the CarbonPro bed?
No. OVS says GM Carbon Pro (CarbonPro) beds are not compatible with the Expedition cap. For other trims, OVS lists fitment by year and bed length; any factory spare-tire mount or accessory that interferes with the install must be removed. If you are unsure, contact us with your trim and bed length before ordering.
What is the difference between the PRO and PRO+?
The PRO has solid steel wing doors with no side windows. The PRO+ has windowed wing doors (tempered glass with a sliding side window) and a built-in MOLLE panel; because of that panel, OVS's add-on door and side-frame MOLLE panels do not fit the PRO+. Everything else is shared: front and rear glass windows, construction, finish, latches, rear security cage, roof rails, seals and the 3rd brake light. On this truck the PRO+ is $500 more in either bed size.
Do I have to drill my Silverado or Sierra 1500 to install it?
No drilling is needed to mount the cap; it clamps to the bed rails. The included 3rd brake light has to be wired, and OVS notes some trucks need one small hole drilled for that wire. Follow the OVS installation instructions for your truck.
How long does installation take?
OVS rates the install at 1-2 hours. The cap is a 5-piece modular design that assembles on the truck.
Does it work with a tonneau cover or bed rail accessories?
OVS does not list tonneau cover or bed rail accessory compatibility. The cap clamps directly to the bed rails, and OVS says any accessories that interfere with the installation must be removed first. If you are unsure about a specific accessory, contact us before ordering.
How does the truck cap ship?
It is a large freight item that ships direct from Overland Vehicle Systems. The current lead time is shown with each bed size and model option.
OVS does not publish a formal packing list. Based on OVS's product information, the cap comes with:
- Expedition truck cap (5-piece modular shell) for your Silverado / Sierra 1500 bed size
- No-drill bed rail clamps
- Integrated roof rails (19 mm T-slot)
- 3rd brake light
- 3M single-bulb seal for the bed rails and bulkhead
- Rear hatch bulb seal
- 2 pieces of butyl tape for the bulkhead step-down

Sold separately: crossbars, add-on MOLLE panels (these do not fit the PRO+, which has a built-in MOLLE panel) and LED lighting kits.
