Easy Install

The installation was pretty straightforward after watching the video. However, after installing the passenger side, I was left with no washers to complete the driver side, so I had to run to the hardware store to get more. Other than that, I love these shields. Hopefully, my next order doesn't come with missing hardware.

Great theft deterrent

These are well made and fit up well with my 2023 TRD off-road. Installation was really easy with the help of the video that Cali has, that video totally made a difference, keep up the great work.

The guards themselves fit well, don't rattle and restrict the access to the cats for the most part. I think that they will work as intended and just encourage the thieves to move on to the next one. I do think that someone with a sawzall and a long blade could still cut and remove the cats from the rear, there is enough exposed pipe in front and behind the guards/frame that it could be done but again it probably is enough discouragement to make them look elsewhere

Overall for the cost I'm still happy that I put them on and would do it again.

Awesome product

Super easy to install. This is my third set for 4Runners and Tacos. Adds that armor to keep the theives at bay. Happy to have them instead of a ridiculous insurance claim and a vehicle you can't drive.

Great product! The best value in the west

Quality product. Precision cut metal. Shipping was fast. My kit came with 4 missing washers but a quick trip to hardware store solved the situation. I highly recommend these shields.

Awesome Product!

I installed my Cali Raised Catalytic Converter Covers that I received a while back. Shipping was very fast, and everything was packed well. Both sides fit perfectly, and installation was a breeze. I did install an extra washer or two on the outside transmission bolts to help align the front rubber bumpers to my frame. Placed my jack under the transmission bracket and put light pressure on it until both bolts were loose making swapping of the bolts easy. Also, I left one of the rear crossmember bolts loosely installed so I could just swing the crossmember out of the way and then swing it back to help the install process. I could not find extra secure bolts on the Cali site, but I will find some and install them soon. Very happy with this awesome product and the peace of mind!

These catalytic converters look great.

These catalytic converters look great. Took me 2 hours to install the driver side. (Just because it was my first time and I’m a beginner). But process was fairly simple after watching an install video. I was able to install the passenger side in about 30 minutes. I feel more comfortable with having these installed.

East install

Super easy to install and although nothing will stop a determined thief, I feel a lot better having a vehicle that's easy to get under.

2020 4Runner TRDPro Cat Shields

Got this after someone attempted to steal the cats on my Sequoia. My wife has a 2020 4Runner that this install was way smoother and looks way better than the one I put on my Truck. Video was super helpful for the install and they even included the security bit needed for the specialty torx bolts. Great product. It shipped quicker than expected. Install was pretty easy. I would suggest a hack stand to hold it in place while your other 2 hands are bolting it up.

2023 T4R TRD ORP with KDSS

Easy and quick install on my 2023 T4R TRD ORP with KDSS. No issues whatsoever and great peace of mind. Not sure why there’s so much misinformation on if the shields are/are not compatible with some models. Hopefully this review helps some.

Good - could be slightly improved - very slow shipping

Overall the product is made and designed well.

One of the rubber bumpers didn’t align or contact my frame at all. This could be a frame issue so that’s understandable. Another cut hole inboard of the current ones would solve this and allow more flexibility with install.

I manually bent the tab to ensure contact.

CR Engineering did reach out after I submitted an inquiry so that is good and they took my feedback well.

Shipping was double what the lead time stated on website and support didn’t have a clue on actual shipping. Kept being told “end of this week” and then nothing. If it’s delayed then just say it up front.

I was offered a small rebate for the shipping delay so that was nice.

I would order from them again without hesitation.

This is a really cool product. The cats on the 4Runner are naturally super easy to reach, and these make them much harder to access. Installation was straightforward and came with everything needed. They were a bit fiddly to install because you need to align several things while you hold several things, but it was all doable in about an hour. I’d say the price was exactly right. If you are on the fence, then just do it. Totally worth it.
