Install the Cali Raised LED Cat Shield & Transmission Skid Plate on your 2025+ Toyota 4Runner using the instructions below. The plate helps protect the transmission from rocks and trail damage and adds a physical barrier around the catalytic converter area to help deter theft.

Which kit do you have

Hybrid: CR4325 (steel) · CR4327 (aluminum)
Non-hybrid: CR4329 (steel) · CR4331 (aluminum)

The hybrid plate is 7 inches longer. Same hardware, same steps.

Fitment and installation time

Fits 2025+ Toyota 4Runner (6th Gen), hybrid or non-hybrid; pick the plate that matches yours. Works with most aftermarket suspension lifts; check fit on custom or extreme setups. Estimated installation time: 45–90 minutes. Bolts to factory mounting points; no drilling or welding.

Before you start

Let the exhaust cool completely before you start. Park on level ground and support the vehicle on jack stands; never work under a vehicle held up only by a jack. Have a helper for the lift. If there is a plastic guard under your 4Runner, remove it first.

Installation steps

Remove the plastic guard. If there is a plastic guard under your 4Runner, remove it first. The 4Runner in the video has none.
Note where the plate sits. This plate overlaps the front skid and sits on top of it, the Cali Raised front skid in the video or the stock skid. A front skid is not required. Find that edge now, before you lift the plate.
Fit the carriage bolts. Put the two supplied 3/8 carriage bolts through the two holes in the crossmember. This is where the back end of the plate is secured.
Lift the plate into place. Set the back of the plate in, bring it up and attach it at the carriage bolts to hold it in place. If you have someone to help, this is the time.
Start all the hardware. While your helper holds the plate up, get every bolt started by hand before you tighten any of them.
Fit the two access doors. Each door is held by four bolts. The video recommends fitting both doors before you lift the plate, but fitting them after it is installed works too.
Tighten everything. Work around the plate until every fastener is tight and the plate does not move. Do not over-tighten. If the hardware will not seat the way it should, stop and email support before you force it.

Check your work

The plate sits flat and tight, and does not move.
Both carriage bolts at the back are tight.
Both access doors are on, four bolts each.
With a front skid: the plate overlaps it and sits on top.
